Please turn on the heat
I need a break from the cold
Summer rescue me
I know we don’t have it as bad down here in North Carolina as some others, but this deep freeze is tough on us. Β We got hit with a combo yesterday, snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Β The world looks like the top of a glazed doughnut outside – mmmm doughnuts – and it may not thaw much until tomorrow. Β So how do you deal with the cold? Β What gets you through it?

Thanks for reminding me why I’ve driven south these past two winters.
I need to be heading there myself. Just take the family for a two month vacation.
I have the whole family, dog and bird here. It’s good for all. I highly recommend it. I once drove from New Orleans to Key West to escape cold weather. I was a migratory bird in a past life.
Sounds fun. I have never been to Key West even though I lived in Florida for a spell. I have to go down there.
“Turn on the heat” for a rescue. great take on the prompt.
Thank you.
It is so cold here that when I went for a 10 minute walk last night to a nearby restaurant, I came back with red, cracked knuckles. π¦ I’m mostly trying to stay inside now.
That’s cold. I’ve run in it down here and it has been brutal, but not as bad as it seems you have it.
It’s in the teens here in Mass., and I am going to Fla next week to warm up for a week!
Sounds nice, which part? I used to live in St. Pete.
We really need an act of rescue by the summer. I welcome this haiku.

Thank you. Just trying to do my part to keep everyone warm and happy.
I hear you… I need a massive break from the icy snow in my front yard.
Cheers,
Eliz
By the way, including a standard email/blog/name dialog box will make it easy for more of us to comment on your posts using our blog addresses; especially if we write our haiku on blogspot. π
Thanks. I’ll look into that. I didn’t know there was an issue and thanks for the comment as well. I think we all need a little heat relief right now.
