Haiku – Thoughts about Trains

Haunted by our past

Trains once rolled into these camps

Few came out alive

A steam engine roars

Click and clack of the steel wheels

Riding on the rails

Thanks. I always try to think a little different with these challenges. Really opens the mind.

Reading from Europe, your first haiku brings back many a somber memory … great write!

Ah … hope you can come to visit sometime .. and we have plenty of trains which can give you some beautiful memories.

I’ve been on a few and I miss traveling that way. Wish America had more trains.

I agree with you. When I was back in the States a couple of years ago, we were going to go by train from St. Louis to New Orleans … missed that one with so many things to do. But I was surpriesed that there are so few trains left and so expensive!
