Haiku – Hop and a Rock

The bright red rock skimmed

Across the blue lake it bounced

One, two, three, four times

A tough prompt this week. I had to look up the definition of this word just to kind of find a subject for this Haiku. I’m still not sure it is a great Haiku, but it does stay true to the meaning of the word “skim.” That is the word prompt at this site this week: HAIKU HORIZONS. Good luck.

This is lovely. I was just watching a friend skim stones.

Haven’t done it in a bit, but it is relaxing standing by the water skimming stones.

I liked it. It reminded me of when I was young and my brother and I used to skim stones on the river behind our house. Thanks for the memory. 🙂

Anytime. I haven’t skipped a rock in a while. Need to get back to it.
