I can honestly say that I wasn’t a gigantic Prince or Merle Haggard fan, but I did enjoy their music from time to time. I thought I might honor both of them today by posting a couple of their songs. Prince was everywhere when I was a teen growing up in the Eighties. It was hard not to turn on the radio and hear him. His death has shocked me more than Merle’s did for that reason, but I have enjoyed Merle’s music as well throughout my life time. Growing up in a small town with a dad who loved what would become classic country it is hard not to have heard a few of Merle’s songs. The music world has lost two more legends.

I grew up listening to my mother’s Merle Haggard albums. And Prince has always been one of my go to musician to pick me up when I was doing something I didn’t want to. Lots of talent!
So much talent. Just a shame that both are now gone.
