Haiku – 9/7/2019
Dark storm clouds have cleared
Ushering in bright blue skies
Hot and sunny days

I made a vow to myself to try and post every single day until the end of the year once September started. Guess I am going to miss that goal. Oops. I didn’t see a cold hitting me hard or a hurricane knocking on the door. We are inland enough not to feel or see Dorian’s wrath, but we were close enough to have school closed for two days. That along with the cold caused me to stop posting. Hope I am going to get back to it today with this Haiku. Have a great weekend.

The first day of school
Children filled with excitement
A bit of terror

Populating the green leaves
Summer dressed in pink

A thick morning fog
Crawling across the mountain
Covering the trees

I wrote this Haiku yesterday afternoon and didn’t have time to post it. Seemed a shame not to let it have its time to shine or rust, depending on what you think of it. Here it is.
Under a shade tree
Basking in the cool shadow
Escaping the sun

Green bushes rustling
A small white and furry skunk
Hunting for some food

I saw a white skunk last night. It had a black streak across its back. Amazing what you see on a mountain vacation. Anybody ever seen one or have you seen just the normal version?

Big house sitting all alone
