Almost summertime
Days full of heat and sunshine
Dips in the cool pool
Foggy spring sunrise
Colorful birds singing out
A bright morning song

Do you need a little songbird noise?
Here’s 11 hours of it.
Enjoy.
A small ladybug
Crawling over the brown mulch
Full of sharp color

I like lady bugs, but this might be too much.
You decide.
Run into his arms
Shelter, safety, and comfort
Are waiting for you

I always thought this would be a great song for a chase scene in a movie where the monster of that story is after someone. I can see the chase starting as the music begins and then as the music builds the chase intensifies.
The doves are cooing
Singing out a mournful song
For those we have lost

I can honestly say that I wasn’t a gigantic Prince or Merle Haggard fan, but I did enjoy their music from time to time. I thought I might honor both of them today by posting a couple of their songs. Prince was everywhere when I was a teen growing up in the Eighties. It was hard not to turn on the radio and hear him. His death has shocked me more than Merle’s did for that reason, but I have enjoyed Merle’s music as well throughout my life time. Growing up in a small town with a dad who loved what would become classic country it is hard not to have heard a few of Merle’s songs. The music world has lost two more legends.
Tranquil night-time breeze
Brushes back the new spring leaves
A full moon revealed
Colorful
Vibrant and alive
Cherry tree blossoms in bloom
Mixed and mingled among the green leaves
Pink

Ocean side
Sitting with my toes
Firmly planted in the sand
Underneath a loud flapping palm tree
Blue
That’s my first attempt at Sidlak Poetry. I would love to hear some thoughts on it and I would love to see what you can do. Post your Sidlak poem either in the comments section or your own blog. Swing back over and leave me your link so I can check it out.
