A journey of faith
Cleansed with baptismal waters
Putrid sins washed free

I write a lot of Haiku and Poetry for my other blog: awrenfro.com. I thought I might start posting some of my Christian based poetry from that site to this site.

Sunday morning starts
Time for church and a sermon
Helps to free the soul

Cold liquid morning
Warmth in my favorite mug
Time for church again
From father to son
A gift of eternal life
If we just believe

Refuse to give in
Hold tight to your desires
They always come true

Dreams do usually come true, but maybe not in the way you expect them to. I thought my dreams were one thing when I was a young man, now, I realize I hadn’t even begun to dream about the things I truly wanted way back then. Family, faith, home, love, those are the dreams I didn’t even know I was dreaming until they happened.
I was inspired to write this Haiku by this blog post this morning:

God
My kingdom knows no boundaries
My gate forever wide
My soul is in the Earth
My soul is in the tide
I hold my arms open
I welcome you to my side
Devil
Cast out from heaven
Prided goeth before my fall
I live in hatred – lies
I’m a soul stealer
A wheeler dealer
I am evil – eternal

The Magi (/ˈmædʒaɪ/ [1] or /ˈmeɪdʒaɪ/; Greek: μάγοι, magoi), also referred to as the (Three) Wise Men or (Three) Kings, were in Christian tradition, a group of distinguished foreigners who visited Jesus after his birth, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. They are regular figures in traditional accounts of the nativity celebrations of Christmas and are an important part of Christian tradition.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

I had a couple of interesting comments about this particular Haiku that I wrote earlier in the week:
The cold grey headstones
Fresh light of dawn breaks on them
One grave is empty
When I wrote it my thinking was that a zombie had crawled up out of the Earth in order to do his zombie thing.
After I posted it I received this comment from: http://readinpleasure.wordpress.com/
The comment: I’m reading this as the empty tomb of Jesus. Anyhow, it is powerful
That’s an interesting take on it, so I thought I would write a new Haiku based off of that comment.
Buried for three days
The empty tomb of Jesus
Faith inspiration
See how the title “The Abandoned Graveyard” takes on a whole new meaning with that Haiku.
I then received this comment from: http://planetcyberluz.com/
This was the comment: Looks like the grave robbers have been
I also decided to write a Haiku based off of that one.
Grave robbers bitten
Torn open and ripped apart
Zombie plague begins
Again, the title “The Abandoned Graveyard” takes on a whole new meaning. It is a little closer to the zombie subject matter I was going for originally, but it is just slightly different.
