Darkening skies grow

Clouds crawling ever so slow

Storm starting to build

Air, thick and humid

Heat cut by a gentle breeze

Strolling through the day

From dark and grey clouds

Small droplets of falling rain

Drifting through the air

Sun behind the trees

Highlighting nature’s beauty

Splashing on the leaves

Night starting to rise

Sunlight fading into dusk

Another day complete

I wrote this last night as the sun was starting to set.

Saturated ground

Thirsting for cool clear water

Clouds erupt with rain

Not raining today. I wrote this yesterday as we had a massive thunderstorm roll through. The storm lasted for hours and it inspired this Haiku.

Small busy spider

Back and forth and side to side

Working on its web

The bees are buzzing

Circling bright purple blossoms

Happy in their work

The sounds of nature

Singing birds and cicadas

Fill the summer day

A july morning

Day sweltering in thick heat

Sun starting to bake

Underneath a tree

Sitting in the cool dark shade

Day drifting slowly

Squirrel spots mushroom

Bright fungus quickly consumed

Happily it eats

Did you know squirrels eat mushrooms? I didn’t. Sat and watched one do it. Guess you learn something new each day.

Bright yellow sunshine

Your warmth brings on a new day
