Chickadee outdoors
Pecking at frozen tree limbs
On a bleak cold day
Soft thunder rumbling
Grey skies turning dark and black
Storms are rolling in
Summer and Winter
Like an old married couple
Bickering, fighting

They say it is going to be in the low seventies today, folks, this is January and that is absurd. On top of that, they are also calling for strong storms. It says winter on the calendar, but it sure feels like spring.

I really don’t know if this poem is any good or not, probably not, but I kept seeing Robins in the yard and I just thought I would write a little something about them. I can’t believe that I am seeing them all ready. I thought this was a sure sign of Spring. I guess this new weather pattern has them confused as well. Anyway, hope you had a great New Year celebration and that you have a wonderful 2015.

This song came on Pandora this morning. It got me thinking about the massive winter storms that roll across the great lakes and the oceans. It inspired this Haiku.

How about something warm to get our minds off of Winter?
The rain chased away
Nature smiles in the bright light
Sunlight through the trees
Soaked, cloudy, and grey
Sky full of dark intense gloom
Raindrops dominate
Squirrel gathers nuts
Store them away for winter
Fall almost complete
