A Poetry Journey
Morning song arrives
Wakes me with a peaceful ease
Bright and cheerful tune
Blue flash of bright light
A jagged lightning cracked strike
Thunder booms outside
Salt and pepper skies
Clear rain drops softly falling
Gentle early dawn
Pretty bird of day
Darkness is fast approaching
Time to hurry home
Dark overcast sky
Moisture heavy in the air
A fresh summer storm
Night’s darkness lifting
Birds singing to the new dawn
The day has arrived
Humid moist thickness
Cloudy blanket of wet fog
Over the windows
•
Sunshine blazing hot
Like fire set on a scorched Earth
July summertime
Golden sun filled light
Casting rays upon the day
Like a fisherman
Sunlight creeping out
The crack of dawn opening
Revealing warm rays
Clouds in abundance
Scattered like littered paper
Across the blue sky
Sunshine, muggy heat
Summer alive this June day
No clouds high above
Darkness – like a wave
Washing across the daylight
Drowning out the sun
Big storms erupting
Lightning flashes, thunder booms
Electrical air
Busy worker bee
Collecting yellow pollen
While the day closes
Morning birds singing
Trying to wake up the day
Lovely is their song
Cardinal outside
My son’s eyes full and alive
Watching red feathers
Rabbit just chillin’
Relaxing on the new grass
Thick green with spring rain
Doves cooing outside
Sunlight crisp and orange bright
Warm May day ahead
Morning birds chirping
Ringing in the warm May day
Happy for the spring
