Salt water rushing
Bashing, crashing the shoreline
Racing back to sea
A misty grey sky
Cool air whispers through the palms
Fall’s coastal embrace
Cool morning on the beach
Waves crashing – pounding surf
Seagulls chitter and chatter
Proud to be on their home turf
Cup of coffee in my hand
Watching this seagull show
The sun gently on the rise
Warmth starting to grow
A clear mountain stream
Crooked as it twists and winds
Through fall’s bright colors
°
Edge of the shoreline
Toes touching the water’s warmth
As the red sun sets
…
Autumn messenger
With strong Morse Code like chirping
You signal the fall
•
Afternoon shafts of light
Lay shadows across the deck
Dark black
Velvet
Evening takes over for the day
Pounding crashing waves
Splashing through the salty surf
In the bright sunshine
+
Shoreline cast away
Drunk on peace and solitude
Palm trees dance and sway
