Thick fog this morning
The world is hidden in white
What lurks inside it?
Mumbling and grumbling
Acting on caffeine instincts
Shambling to the pot

Getting away from the hustle and heat back home for a week-long trip to the mountains. So cool right now that I have to go and find a jacket, and it was so cool and rainy earlier that I actually wore a thin long sleeve to run in. Crazy stuff. When I make the trip up to the mountains I always have to listen to this song when I run. It just sets the mood and the tone.
How was the run? Solid. Walked a bit, ran a bit, that sort of thing. It was nice to just get the legs moving after the drive yesterday. Okay, that’s about it. Hope you guys have a great Sunday.

Horde:
A tossing of bread
Swarmed and surrounded quickly
Ducks and geese go wild
Sanctuary:
Shadowy and cool
Oasis from the hot sun
Escaping the heat
Water Line:
Son in his stroller
Tossing food into the lake
Ducks fight and scramble
Set upon a half crescent beach
Destination solitary ease
White sand covers toes
Time runs as you please

Really strange run tonight. I walked my normal half mile, and then I started to run. I thought I was never going to make it to the first mile. When I reached that mile, I stopped and walked for another half mile. Then I started up again, and folks, let me tell you. It felt wonderful to be running. Two miles in, and I had to force myself to stop. I just didn’t want to over do it. I walked another half mile, ran another half, and then came on home. Strange how it works out like that. Any runners out there who have gone through this before? Just curious.
Grey clouds hanging low
Rain drops pooling on the deck
Creating small lakes
Soaring high above
On wings of mighty freedom
In the cloudless sky
