Locked away inside
Something lurks in the darkness
Waiting to return
Locked away inside
Something lurks in the darkness
Waiting to return
Nature brings the rain
Helps the bright flowers to grow
Every springtime

Bright green windswept leaves
Swaying in a soft warm breeze
Storm clouds hanging low
The room is cold,
no light filters into the gloom.
A quiet abandoned place,
dark, full of doom.
Footsteps echo,
walking across the floor.
I listen to them move,
as they reach the attic door.
The door opens,
closes back.
Footsteps on the stairs,
on a downward track.
I crawl inside my covers,
listen as the steps draw near.
Should I run?
Should I hide?
The covers shift,
the ghost is by my side.
Green tropical plant
Swaying in the ocean breeze
Nestled in the sand

As the rocking chair creaks,
I lie awake in bed,
with images of ghosts,
dancing in my head.
Why is the rocking chair moving?
Who or what is in the chair?
Rocking all night long,
without a single care.
Birds singing soft songs
Chirping out wonderful tunes
Happy for springtime
Bright blooming flowers
Cover the world with color
Springtime has arrived

Robbed these two from myself. Not a lot of time to write something for mom this year, but I didn’t want to let the day go by without giving all moms a nod. I’m a stay at home dad and I see first hand how awesome moms are. They are true rock stars. Happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there.

Love, safety, comfort
In the caring arms of mom
All you ever need

How to describe a mom,
well,
it may be too hard to do,
without leaving out,
too many things,
that are true.
For a mom is a blessing,
a true gift from God,
her patience and virtue,
is something,
you could never prod?
The sun’s warming rays
Falling onto the soft beach
Warming the white grains

Voices of the dead
I can hear you loud and clear
Talking through machines
The sounds of springtime
Move the night into the day
Peaceful transition

Lost inside a trance
Victim cradled in his arms
Sharp fangs pierce the flesh
Man on a mower
Cutting between the gravestones
Corpses start to wake
