The first use of the word “vampire” in English wasn’t until 1734, when it was mentioned in a book called Travels of Three English Gentlemen. Although the idea of the “undead” returning to attack the living is ancient and occurs in many cultures, the bloodsucking vampire we recognise today arose in south-eastern Europe in the 17th century. Versions of the word “vampire” exist in all the Slavic languages and some linguists have traced it back to ubyr, the Tatar word for “witch”. via QI: Quite interesting facts about vampires – Telegrap
So dark this morning
Storms crept slowly in last night
Bringing rain showers
Just enter my doors
Try to find the roaming ghosts
The ones who haunt me

God
My kingdom knows no boundaries
My gate forever wide
My soul is in the Earth
My soul is in the tide
I hold my arms open
I welcome you to my side
Devil
Cast out from heaven
Prided goeth before my fall
I live in hatred – lies
I’m a soul stealer
A wheeler dealer
I am evil – eternal

They say it is going to be in the low seventies today, folks, this is January and that is absurd. On top of that, they are also calling for strong storms. It says winter on the calendar, but it sure feels like spring.

I really don’t know if this poem is any good or not, probably not, but I kept seeing Robins in the yard and I just thought I would write a little something about them. I can’t believe that I am seeing them all ready. I thought this was a sure sign of Spring. I guess this new weather pattern has them confused as well. Anyway, hope you had a great New Year celebration and that you have a wonderful 2015.

Hard time of year. I always feel so sad packing it all up. Seems like the season just comes and goes so quick.
