If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

He just sounds like an interesting guy. Might be nice to hang out with him for a bit.

Do you trust your instincts?
I try too because they usually are right. I have regretted it many times when I haven’t.
What’s your favorite month of the year? Why?
October.
Halloween is my favorite holiday.
Horror is my genre of choice.
I love that in the month of October the stores and the commercials and the local neighborhoods are all covered in horrific things.
Plus the leaves are changing and the weather is getting better. Summer is brutal in NC so October is a nice change of pace.
What is your favorite place to go in your city?
There’s a lake nearby that I like to go to from time to time. I prefer the ocean and the overall beach vibe but sitting by the lake, listening to the soft waves, is very relaxing.
If I can’t get to the coast then I at least have this option for time by the water.
Shameless plug. I shot this video there.

What’s the first impression you want to give people?
Kindness and positivity. I try to put those things out into the world when I encounter people or meet someone for the first time. I feel like this world needs more of both of them especially now.
What book are you reading right now?

I have become an Agatha Christie fan as of late and have been reading a lot of her work. Her books are page turners that are hard to put down. I understand now why she’s so popular.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If you’d asked me twenty years ago, before I aged, it would have been somewhere warm and tropical like Tahiti or Bora Bora and part of me still loves that idea. A small shack in the sand with endless warm days.
However.
These days I am also starting to think about living in a little more Northern climate on the coast. A place you can take strolls on the beach or long hikes. Not sure where that is. Maine or Oregon or maybe Canada or maybe somewhere overseas.
Those are my places. What are yours?
Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?
Does anyone remember Curt Gowdy? My parents have a picture of him holding me when I was a baby.

What is good about having a pet?
They provide – comfort, warmth, love, companionship, laughter, joy, smiles, etc.
And they add a positive vibe to any space you bring them into.
Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).
Does a plane ticket count? I have been to multiple places around the globe and I know that was always an expensive personal purchase. I also bought a video camera for one of these trips and dropped it in a lake in Italy. I was able to retrieve the camera but it was no longer working.
What podcasts are you listening to?
The six I listen to when I get in the mood to listen. Not as much of a Podcast junky as I used to be.

Campfire: Ghost stories and spooky stuff.
Legends: They talk about various legends from the New England states.

Both of these dive into Horror movies and related subjects.

SFN: Talking about the band Rush.
DnDnD is a Dungeons and Dragons Podcast. In case you were wondering. The other D stands for Dinner. Each episode the host tries to match a particular food to the campaign they are on.
Do you need time?
Don’t we all need 26 hours in a 24 hour day?
Best way for me to combat this is to stay on a schedule and somewhere in that schedule carve out a little time for myself. Taking a walk, reading, watching a movie, doing something creative, etc. That’s the way I find a bit of time each day.
Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.
Zero Day
We take a day off work and pretend we are on vacation. Listen to some music, hang out with friends, read a book, listen to music, sleep, make your favorite drinks, take a hike, ride a bike, etc.
To participate you have to wear a Hawaiian shirt and do absolutely nothing for the day. Only those few chores are allowed that are truly necessary – like cooking and cleaning dishes. No social media is allowed. In fact technology will be invented to prevent you from accessing any of it. The rest of the day is about resetting your soul to zero back to your calm warm center.
Is there an age or year of your life you would re-live?
16: It might be fun to go back to that age and experience driving for the first time. To feel that freedom you get when you climb behind the wheel and just go. Late 80’s music in the cassette player, hair in the wind (use to have it), and no real commitments.
You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for?
What is your favorite form of physical exercise?
Walking or hiking is a great way to get the legs moving. Nice to get out in nature and get some fresh air. I bought a bike recently so I have been enjoying riding it as well.
How much would you pay to go to the moon?
Not much. I would love to go but I wouldn’t waste my life savings on it.
What have you been working on?
YouTube – it’s a constant. Always upgrading and changing to stay fresh. Not sure it helps but it doesn’t hurt to try.
When you think of the word “successful,” who’s the first person that comes to mind and why?
Four came to mind.
Close to home: My dad. Grew up without a lot of money. Managed to finish college and get a degree. He isn’t wealthy in money but he had a lot of success along the way. Raised a family and managed to make sure we were all taken care of and loved. To me that’s a success.
Celebrities:
Jimmy Buffett. He had some hits but nothing like Margaritaville. He turned that one song into an empire.
Sam Raimi: He made a low budget movie called The Evil Dead and is now directing blockbusters.
James of the YouTube Channel Dead Meat: Almost 7 million subscribers and is becoming a known name in the horror industry.
When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?
There have been several of those moments in my life, maybe even more than several, but buying a house with my wife, buying my first car, and kids being born. I felt like a true grown up in those times.
