What countries do you want to visit?
Australia is high on my bucket list. Antarctica would be great and Iceland too. Somewhere warm like French Polynesia. A few I would love to see. There are certainly many more.

How do you want to retire?
Enough money to travel and plenty of days spent by the beach. Perfect retirement.
What is your favorite season of year? Why?
Love the warm days of spring and the changing of the leaves in fall. Plus in N.C. the fall is still warm but not so hot you can’t enjoy being outside. Summer is third but by August I am ready for the heat to subside. And Winter is a distant fourth. Just don’t like cold weather.
Describe your dream chocolate bar.
White or Milk Chocolate and preferably not mixed with anything.
Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?
The Hardy Boys Mystery Series was one of my early favorites to read once I started reading as a kid.
Childhood memories
A Hardy Boys Mystery
Fuels my love of books
Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.
I write and create content for YouTube and my Podcast. That helps to give me not only joy but an outlet that keeps me focused on a goal. Nice to have when the days are tough.
How do you feel about cold weather?
I think this Haiku answers this question.
Tropical beach bar
Open to the warm sea breeze
Nestled in the palms
I do not like the cold. Prefer warm days and sand under my feet. Can I tolerate it? Yes, but only if I have to. I do enjoy a nice snowfall but it’s the only part of winter I really enjoy.
Have you ever broken a bone?
Yep.
Twice.
Broke a finger and my left wrist back when I was a kid. Had a cast on my arm each time.
What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?
Jimmy Buffett concert shirt from 1995. Held up great through the years.
Are you a leader or a follower?
Kind of both but most days I have to be a leader because I am a stay-at-home dad and I run the day to day routine.
What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?
Able to focus
Taking time to concentrate
Zero in on goals
To focus more and have less unfocused sidebars throughout my day.
What was the last live performance you saw?
The band Tesla just before the Pandemic hit – about a month before. They are an Eighties band I grew up with. You probably know this song.
What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?
A fisherman on that Deadliest Catch show because that’s about how long I would last – a day. But I would love to try it.
What gives you direction in life?
My family. They help me steer my way through my days. Creativity is another thing that gives me focus and direction.
Not so much a quote but a song: No Plane on Sunday by Jimmy Buffett
Lyrics:
You can throw your luggage down
Lose your cool and stamp around
But there’s nothin, nothin you can do
Wipe away your girlfriend’s tears
Go to the bar and have some beers
There ain’t no way the bird’s gettin through
No plane on Sunday
Maybe be one come Monday
Just a hopeless situation
Make the best of it’s all you can do
till they get through
Overheard the engineer
Say somethin’ ’bout the landing gear
Now we’re runnin’ strictly on island time
I know you got someone back home
So do I it’s tough alone
Awh come on, it’s just a minor crime
No plane on Sunday
Check it again come Monday
Just a hopeless situation
Make the best of it’s ’bout all you can do
Baby it’s true
We shouldn’t spend these precious hours
Tryin’ to figure this out
We don’t know where the story ends
Let’s don’t go back to just being friends
So they went walkin’ on the beach
Quarter moon within their reach
So they stole it and tucked it in their hearts
That’s when they heard the engines hum
And realized the dawn had come
It was over, over from the start
No plane on Sunday
Just another lonely Monday
Awh make the best of a bad situation’s
‘Bout all you can do
Baby it’s true
Oh-oh-oh-oh baby it’s true
Oh-oh-oh-oh baby what’s new
Oh-oh-oh-oh baby what’s new
I think the song itself is about an affair but what I like about it the most is the fact that it tells you that no matter what is going on try and make the best of the situation you are in. That’s how I try to go about my day each day making the best of whatever is presented to me. I also did a podcast episode for this song on the Song Lines and Tan Lines Podcast.
What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?
Halloween season
Favorite time of the year
Full of the macabre

Halloween has long been my favorite holiday. I am a horror fan and it’s that one time of year that horror becomes the norm.
A few times. It’s not anything I love to do, but when I get the chance to go I go.
When do you feel most productive?
Mornings are the best time for me and sometimes, usually after a good nap, I can be productive in the afternoon. At night, I am a human slug.
