Waste not, this nice day
For laughter and warmth await
Those who venture out

Waste not, this nice day
For laughter and warmth await
Those who venture out

For more prompts like “waste” go here: Haiku Horizons
Train through the mountains
Heading past tall evergreens
Crossing tall bridges
Take a tiny break
Relax with a good fun song
Anytime of day

Handle in my hand
Steamy and hot brown liquid
Each sip, tensions ease
A white sandy beach
Young child racing through the grains
Spies a tiny shell
+
Multi-colored shell
Resting in a tidal pool
Waiting to be claimed
+
Shells upon the beach
One by one they are picked up
Lasting memories

And because I’ve been singing this one all morning.
Thought I would share.
Farmer stands in dirt
Looks up at the stormy sky
Praying for soft rain

For more prompts like “rain” go here: Haiku Horizons

Hate now in power
Guilty before innocent
Freedom sacrificed

I heard this great song yesterday and it made me think about the way America is currently doing business at home and abroad. I thought I might write a Haiku based off of it. I think, no matter how you voted, it is time to stop the hate and learn to find a great middle ground. We can’t make “America Great Again” if we don’t work together to do it. I am a Democrat, and I will admit that. But they need to shut up and work with Trump. Trump also needs to put on his big boy pants and start learning to compromise. We can’t put in bans like we currently have without stirring up a whole lot of trouble. I agree we have been lax in some areas of this country throughout the years, but bans don’t work. They don’t keep out the bad they just incite more anger, and those we are trying to stop just add fuel to their fire. There has to be a better way to handle our politics than what we have now.
If you decide to leave a comment. Make it productive. I don’t mind a solid discussion, but let’s not get down to childish name calling.
Okay, have a great weekend. Here’s the song.
