A hard run today
Ouchy, ouchy, ouch, ouch, ouch
So sore in the cold
A hard run today
Ouchy, ouchy, ouch, ouch, ouch
So sore in the cold
Snow and leaves falling
Winter and Autumn embrace
A cold icy dance

Snow flurries and sleet this early in November, hard to believe. It was sixty at noon today. Now it is cold enough for winter weather – just bizarre.
Majesty of God
A riddle to unravel
The number 7
•
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

A warm day today
Green-way littered with color
Fall’s scattered remains
•
It’s cold, it’s warm, it’s cold, it’s warm – just make up your mind already Mother Nature. Love the fall and spring in N.C., but the weather is so up and down. Wearing gloves and long sleeves on Tuesday and today I could barely keep my shirt on. Tough to get adjusted when it is like that.
Thin wisps of white clouds
Scattered on a sunny sky
Fun day with my son

The others can be found here: http://wp.me/p2kmxm-QX
Stiff cold wind blowing
Pushing me and leaves a long
Getting in some miles
Orange goblin light
Vein-like across the white clouds
Blood red sky above

Long green grass waving
Across an endless prairie
A lone cowboy rides

Fall colors dancing
Through the leaves of summer green
Yards filled with horror
Falls leaves chasing me
Quick feet, a cool autumn day
Clouds scattered above

Another good walk/run today and another continuous mile. Nice to be getting back to it. I hope all runners and walkers are able to enjoy this nice weather. Give me a like if you enjoy this time of year as much as me.
I had a couple of interesting comments about this particular Haiku that I wrote earlier in the week:
The cold grey headstones
Fresh light of dawn breaks on them
One grave is empty
When I wrote it my thinking was that a zombie had crawled up out of the Earth in order to do his zombie thing.
After I posted it I received this comment from: http://readinpleasure.wordpress.com/
The comment: I’m reading this as the empty tomb of Jesus. Anyhow, it is powerful
That’s an interesting take on it, so I thought I would write a new Haiku based off of that comment.
Buried for three days
The empty tomb of Jesus
Faith inspiration
See how the title “The Abandoned Graveyard” takes on a whole new meaning with that Haiku.
I then received this comment from: http://planetcyberluz.com/
This was the comment: Looks like the grave robbers have been
I also decided to write a Haiku based off of that one.
Grave robbers bitten
Torn open and ripped apart
Zombie plague begins
Again, the title “The Abandoned Graveyard” takes on a whole new meaning. It is a little closer to the zombie subject matter I was going for originally, but it is just slightly different.
Bitter winter wind
Legs pushing me through the cold
First mile in a while

Finally got myself to a continuous mile today, couldn’t believe it. It has been so long since I did that, and it felt great. It was cold out there, colder than it needed to be. That is the one problem I have with North Carolina in the fall. One day, sunny and warm, the next day, cold with heavy winds. C’est la vie, right?

Thank you to this song for helping me push out a few extra steps, came on at just the right time.
White-grey clouds above
Cool breeze, a slight chance of rain
Getting in some miles

I managed to get in a nice day time walk/run today, felt great. I am on my second pair of running headphones, which isn’t bad, since I bought the first pair over two and a half years ago. Anyway, one of the songs got me thinking of Halloween. I thought I would post it below.

Quick run yesterday
My boy holding on tight
Father and son time

I never thought I’d be a jogging stroller guy, thought I would want my running to be something I could do for myself. A little stress relief. What I have found is that I do still enjoy running by myself, but I also enjoy days like Saturday. Pushing my son along in the jogging stroller, me getting in some good exercise, and my boy playing with rocks, pine straw, and acorns while he rides. It really is a lot of fun to do even if the stroller takes some getting use to.
Full moon light hanging
Casting its soft yellow veil
Runner finds his stride
From midnight to midnight
On October 31st
He has a hunger
A blood lust
A thirst
For those who trick and treat
To him
That is the best
The tastiest of meat

One of my favorite Halloween songs, always gets me in the mood:
