Haiku – Tesla
California based
Been kicking around for years
There’s no quit in them

Of my Top Five Bands, this group ranks fourth, just after Iron Maiden and before The Dave Matthews Band. I have been a huge fan of theirs since seeing them in the round with Def Leppard -cough, cough- back in the late eighties – I think it was 1988. I have enjoyed their music ever since and please don’t put them in the Hair Metal crowd. This band is more classic rock with a metal groove and they do stand out from the Hair Metal pack. I have always referred to their music as Blues Metal – that’s jut me though.

Haiku – Last Night’s Run – (6/19/2013)
Aerosmith – good tunes
Three and a half solid miles
Lightning bugs flashing
(this song really got me moving last night)

Some more good reasons to drink coffee, helps with running as well.
Caffeine (in coffee or otherwise) improves performance… Hundreds of studies have shown that consuming caffeine before a physical challenge likely helps subjects go farther and faster than when they go without it. This effect holds true in studies of both endurance athletes and sprinters.

Haiku – Today’s Run – (6/11/2013)
Rock in my left shoe
Thumping pain in my right toe
5 Miles – walk and run
This was a very up and down run tonight. It was easy and hard, kind of a strange one, but I made it out the door – didn’t think I would. Running, just got to love it. Such an odd way to stay in shape.
Anybody want to spill about their runs, the good ones or bad ones, just let it flow below.
Zeppelin really pushed me on tonight. Got to give them some love.
I never get tired of this song.

A guitar legend
Fingers flying, lightning quick
Gone, not forgotten
I heard this song earlier today and it just made me sad to think how great this guy was and how quickly he was gone. R.I.P Randy Rhoads
Randall William “Randy” Rhoads (December 6, 1956 – March 19, 1982) was an American heavy metal guitarist who played with Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot. A devoted student of classical guitar, Rhoads combined his classical music influences with his own heavy metal style. Despite his short career, Rhoads is a major influence on neo-classical metal, is cited as an influence by many guitarists, and is included in several “Greatest Guitarist” lists.[1][2]

Black Sabbath are an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1968, by guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward. The band has since experienced multiple line-up changes, with Tony Iommi the only constant presence in the band through the years. Originally formed in 1968 as a heavy blues rock band named Earth, the band began incorporating occult themes with horror-inspired lyrics and tuned-down guitars. Despite an association with occult and horror themes, Black Sabbath also composed songs dealing with social instability, political corruption, the dangers of drug abuse and apocalyptic prophecies of the horrors of war.
