A golden morning
Warriors ride out to battle
The dragons await

I was inspired to write this Haiku because of this song.
I’ve been singing it all morning.
Enjoy.
Behind the black shades
Killer watches his victim
Waiting for his time
+
Down a long alley
She stumbles through the dark shade
Something follows her
+
A silver knife gleams
Precious flesh is slashed and stabbed
Death falls like a shade

A white sandy beach
Palm tree providing cool shade
Water lapping smooth
Thanks www.tripadvisor.com for the image.
Sunshine on my face
Laying softly upon me
Warm healing bright rays
+
Behind the white wall
Rips, tears, multiple scratches
The rats had found them
+
Hiding in the wall
Worried that they might be found
Nazis on the hunt
+
She fought against love
Putting up walls around her
Protecting her heart

This song has nothing to do with this post.
I’ve just been singing it since I read the prompt word for the week.
Humidity low
Running shoes moving briskly
Air – fall like and warm
+
I forgot how much I enjoyed listening to The Dave Matthews Band.
Enjoy.
Lake’s mirrored surface
Disturbed by a thirsty bear
Looking for a drink
+
Glass mirror reveals
A hard life the man has lived
The scars of his age
+
Mirror’s reflection
Revealed the long dark hallway
Something standing near

Hate now in power
Guilty before innocent
Freedom sacrificed

I heard this great song yesterday and it made me think about the way America is currently doing business at home and abroad. I thought I might write a Haiku based off of it. I think, no matter how you voted, it is time to stop the hate and learn to find a great middle ground. We can’t make “America Great Again” if we don’t work together to do it. I am a Democrat, and I will admit that. But they need to shut up and work with Trump. Trump also needs to put on his big boy pants and start learning to compromise. We can’t put in bans like we currently have without stirring up a whole lot of trouble. I agree we have been lax in some areas of this country throughout the years, but bans don’t work. They don’t keep out the bad they just incite more anger, and those we are trying to stop just add fuel to their fire. There has to be a better way to handle our politics than what we have now.
If you decide to leave a comment. Make it productive. I don’t mind a solid discussion, but let’s not get down to childish name calling.
Okay, have a great weekend. Here’s the song.

Cool Autumn morning
Warm cup of coffee to sip
Savor, enjoy
===
I was trying to think of a good softish song to post.
Something to listen to as you sip on your cup.
This kept coming to mind.
Happy Sunday.
Autumn’s arrival
Trees slowly fill with color
Hints of soft yellow
+
Not related at all to the Fall.
Just wanted to post two awesome songs.
Enjoy and happy Saturday.
A furious storm
Wind whipped into a frenzy
Rain soaking the ground
+
I don’t know how you guys fared during Hurricane Matthew (those effected by it who read this blog), but we got a lot of wind and rain in Raleigh. Nothing like the coastal areas, but still it was scary at times watching the wind bend the trees and the water wash out the roads. Glad it is now passing.

A big mug today
Pushing sleepy eyes open
With lots of coffee

You may or may not like metal.
Just heard this great song.
Thought I would share it.
This will certainly get you going.
Let’s erase the hate
Snuff it out like a wild flame
Turn it into ash
+
The fires of hate
Completely out of control
Burning strong and bright
+
Waxing up her board
Paddling out from the shore
Time to catch a wave

Still fighting demons
Whiskey bottle lies empty
Defeated again

This Haiku was inspired by this song.
Classic Eagles songs
Gentle, smooth, takes you away
Sets your mind at ease

I just finished watching this Music Documentary on Netflix. If you have that streaming service you should stop reading, and head on over there now. This is a fascinating watch that showcases the Eagles career in great detail. I knew a lot about them, but this documentary really shines a light on what this band was like from the inside and out. I can’t recommend this one enough. It has put me back in an Eagles mood once again, and honestly that mood isn’t hard to get back into once you start listening to their music. Such a great band that gave us so many great songs. I will shut up now.
So, Eagles fan or not? Spill it below.
