Quick run yesterday
My boy holding on tight
Father and son time

I never thought I’d be a jogging stroller guy, thought I would want my running to be something I could do for myself. A little stress relief. What I have found is that I do still enjoy running by myself, but I also enjoy days like Saturday. Pushing my son along in the jogging stroller, me getting in some good exercise, and my boy playing with rocks, pine straw, and acorns while he rides. It really is a lot of fun to do even if the stroller takes some getting use to.
Morning light
Cascades across my face
Shades of blue, line the horizon
Night is breaking
I stir
Rise
Lift my weary head
Baby wakes
Time to start the stay at home day

Precious toes and feet
Touch the sand and the water
First steps on new ground
🙂
A happy father
Watching this beach scene unfold
Tears form in his eyes
A rub across my eyes
Daddy, hold me tight
Soft crib calling me
You make it all so right
±
When I wake
We will play and play
Exploring all
Throughout the day
I have to crawl dad
Get my butt straight out of here
Got so much to see
A blessing from God
True love within her kind heart
Soul full of joy

I wrote this poem a while back and posted it to this blog last year around this time. I thought I would re-post it in honor of this special day.
How to describe a mom,
well,
it may be too hard to do,
without leaving out,
too many things,
that are true.
For a mom is a blessing,
a true gift from God,
her patience and virtue,
is something,
you could never prod?
Need some time to waste
Get lost for a day or three
With my wife and son
Been stuck in a medication fog for the last 5 days and I have about 5 more to go. Just need to get away from all of this stuff with my family. Our June vacation can’t come soon enough. Crawling through the days just waiting to see the beach again.
Your purring rhythm
Putting me to gentle sleep
After a long day
I wrote this last night – tired and ready for bed. It is tough being a stay at home dad, taking care of my son, trying to write, keep up the house, stay in shape, blog, etc. I even have, not one, but two, grandmothers close by who help me out a few times a week and I still get worn out. Staying home is one of the toughest jobs I have ever had, but you know what, I love it. This is the best job in the world – even on the toughest of days. My hats off to anyone who has done this job or who is currently doing this job. So rewarding.
By the way, more of a cat man than a dog man. Just me. They put me at ease. How about you? Cat or dog person. Just leave me your answer and a why attached to it.
Old toys have returned,
with the familiar playtime
Back from vacation
🙂
Lots of car seat time
A good little traveler,
this Easter weekend
Strolling, exploring
A sunny day with my son
Cool breeze through his hair
6 months old today
Half a year has passed so quick
Time is flying by
🙂
Big radiant smile
Beaming like the sun above
Always melts my heart
