The bite of winter
Resonates in the spring air
Birds run for shelter
The bite of winter
Resonates in the spring air
Birds run for shelter
Bare brown tree branches
Holding out for springtime’s warmth
Robins dance below
Robins take shelter
Waiting on light snow showers
Winter’s harsh return

Greyish cloudy skies
Cold air, a quick arctic blast
Snow fall imminent

Springtime’s fresh flowers
Under the cold frozen ground
Hoping to rise soon

Crisp morning greets me
Bright sunshine is deceiving
Cool weather returns
Spring time in full bloom
Pink, green, yellow, white, and blue
Vivid visuals

Anybody taking advantage of Mulching season – that’s what it really is right now. I think I have put down about twenty or so bags so far, planted a few new things, and still have loads more to do. I am not an outdoor guy though. Not a big fan of yard work, but if it looks nice, kind of have to do it.
So, do you like or hate yard work?

As a sidebar: I’ve kind of had this song in my head for two days. Maybe you will as well.
Rabbit just chillin’
Relaxing on the new grass
Thick green with spring rain
Doves cooing outside
Sunlight crisp and orange bright
Warm May day ahead
Morning birds chirping
Ringing in the warm May day
Happy for the spring
The night reaching out
Feet slip slapping as I move
Daylight starts to dim

Deceiving night tonight. Felt cool inside the house with the windows open, so I thought thin long sleeve, shorts, vest, good to go – wrong! I had to stop about 2 miles in, shed the shirt, and put on the vest. Just got so hot, felt like I was roasting inside my clothes. Hard weather to dress for this time of year. Still managed a good run though. Happy about that.
Liquid nice and hot
Invigorating my mind
Body starts to wake
Breeze off the water
Cool air across the lake shore
Son watching wildlife
Pink flowers in bloom
A rain cooled fresh spring morning
Sunshine on the rise
Splashed across nature
Kaleidoscope of color
Spring time’s grand re-birth
A spring world awakes
Outside my dining room glass
Robins prance about

The birds are happy
A sweet chorus singing out
In the budding trees
A deep rich blue sky
Clouds seem afraid to invade
Sunshine perfection

So nice to get a beautiful day to get outside. Nice to just go and clear my head. Hope the next run is just as grand. By the way, Happy Spring! Now, Mr. Winter, you can go ahead and take your vacation. I have had enough of you. I’m sure all of you can agree with that.
The morning cold breaks
Pierced by the warm sun rays
A world outside that’s so alive
Waiting on the summer haze

Magical fantastical spring
A harbinger of healing hope
Destroying winter’s frozen embrace
Natures way to cope

I wrote this a few mornings ago as I sat with my son while he ate his breakfast. I was sipping on coffee, enjoying the beautiful morning just glad to have a warm day in front of me. Now, today, I see it is ever so gently snowing. It isn’t much snow, barely can see it, but it is there. I think I called it snow drizzle because it is so faint. 34 degrees fahrenheit right now. Two days ago it was almost seventy degrees fahrenheit. Just crazy weather this year. Anybody else done with winter and wish it would just go far away?
By the way, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Wearing of the green
On St Patrick’s Day it is customary to wear shamrocks and/or green clothing or accessories (the “wearing of the green”).
St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish.[13][14] This story first appears in writing in 1726, though it may be older. In pagan Ireland, three was a significant number and the Irish had many triple deities.[15] The triple spiral symbol appears at many ancient megalithic sites in Ireland.
A nice warm spring day
Gentle breeze drying my skin
No cold – joints happy

I hit the treadmill on Thursday so I could save my legs for this day. Always do more distance when I’m outside, and especially on days like today. Nice to just go and go. Hope you are having a good Saturday.
Chirping in the spring
Sweet symphony of warm days
Happily they sing

The Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is a passerine bird in the family Corvidae, native to North America. It is resident through most of eastern and central United States and southern Canada, although western populations may be migratory. It breeds in both deciduous and coniferous forests, and is common near and in residential areas. It is predominately blue with a white chest and underparts, and a blue crest. It has a black, U-shaped collar around its neck and a black border behind the crest. Sexes are similar in size and plumage, and plumage does not vary throughout the year. Four subspecies of the Blue Jay are recognized.

Time change, longer days, warmer days, so much heading our way. Can’t wait till this winter ends. Who’s with me? Done with winter or do you need just a little bit more?
