Writer’s hopes and dreams
Spreading out from tip to toe
Alive with desires
Racing through my soul
Possessing my brain – body
Taking me over

I don’t know about you, but when I write or re-write it just consumes me. I have woken up the last two days feeling like I’m coming out of a deep dormant sleep. Coincidentally, I put the finishing touches on my re-write yesterday morning. It’s like my body knows when to push me and when not to push me. That’s what inspired this Haiku.
Anybody else feel that way when they go on a creative binge?
I’m on an island
In the middle of an endless sea
Career hopes, desires, wants and needs
Washing on the shore in front of me
My voice is lost
Hidden by the crying gull
Hunger for a feast
Like my dreams inside my skull
. . . I feel like a fighter
Pushed against the ropes
Chasing incomplete dreams
Each day living through hopes
One day I tell myself
You will have it come due
Tasting in the victory
So sweet so true
Poet sits alone
Soaking up the energy
Resting on the beach

My brain feels so flat
I am a little burnt out
Taking a small break

Tanked 1
Nothing in the tank
It is just empty and dry
I need some new juice
Tanked 2
Running on empty
Nothing to write for this blog
Juices flowing slow
Tanked 3
Baby sick this week
My mind turned down to zero
Creative flat line

I think I might take a few days away from this blog. Just need to get the creative juices flowing again. I’m also trying to finish the rewrite to my next novel so I need to buckle down. If you don’t see a post or two for a few days, just know, I will be back – hopefully? Thanks again for following.
Running on empty
Nothing to write for this blog
Juices flowing slow
Tanked 1
Nothing in the tank
It is just empty and dry
I need some new juice
Scrolling through pages
Frustrated with frustration
Stop the presses.
Here’s your chance to help me finish this Haiku.
Below you will find an A,B,C, or D multiple choice response. Feels like we are back in school. I know. Sorry about that.
Okay, here goes.
These answers are supposed to reflect the kind of re write person you are. Choose the one which says the most about yourself when you are rewriting something. Your answer will complete this Haiku.
A. I can make this great. (The optimistic writer – few and far between)
B. Why did I write that? (The troubled writer – probably a drinker or pot smoker, doing stuff when they are a little loopy)
C. Why doesn’t this work? (The angry writer – ready to fling a keyboard in a moments notice)
D. Dammit, damn, damn, damn! (This is the one I would have used. I’m there most of the time when something doesn’t work)
So this Haiku would have read like this if I would have used D.
Scrolling through pages
Frustrated with frustration
Dammit, damn, damn, damn!
Okay, choose wisely. I look forward to your answers.
