Poem – Time through the hour glass

Moonlight cuts the night

Razor clean with light

I stand

In front of my window

Reflection on the glass, shows a different person

The years

They pass

Youthful splendor

Racing, chasing dreams

It seems so long ago

My mind races with thoughts

No planning for my future

No planning for the fall

For in my youthful splendor

By now, I thought I would have it all

Publication, a writer

My novel in print

Sign sealed and delivered

Message received and sent

Now as 40 pushes

And shoves away

Is it time wasted?

Wasted on dreams

I still have the desire and the fire

The dreams aren’t doused with such ease

I have to be an example

I have to show my son

I have to show him

Never give up, never stop the run

I understand this poem. I have three books needing a re-read and I need to get busy and try to get published. Time goes very quickly. Thank you for sharing the poem and the thoughts.

Anytime. Good luck with the books you have. Tough world as a writer.
