Anticipating winter

Squirrels gather nuts

Daylight approaching

Sunlight on the horizon

Bright beams kill the night

Sunlight streaming down

Naked trees stripped by Autumn

Reach up to the warmth

Rain clouds hanging low

Lingering dampness drags on

Into a new day

Harsh shafts of sunlight

Breaking up the cloudy grey

Warming up my soul
