Haiku: Hiking in the Rain
Valuable lesson learned – download everything before you hike. I was shocked to find that cellular coverage was spotty in a park in the middle of Raleigh. The things you learn.
Wandering the woods
Rain drops falling through the trees
Soaking wet and lost

Daily Prompt
What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?
Exercise helps to keep me mentally fit and healthy. I also started day hiking when time permits. Nothing like getting out in nature. Keeps the mind and body healthy. This is one of my recent hikes.
I also write, read, and watch movies.
Anything to help with mental well being.
Sometimes I just turn everything off and let silence surround me.
It’s important to me to keep a healthy mind as well as a healthy body.

Haiku: Salty Lightning

Streaking across the warm waves

I went down to the beach at sunrise and stumbled onto this light show. Amazing to stand in the sand and watch this.
Need a beach break today. These links could help.

Vultures
I did a series of shorts on my Verse of Nature Channel for vultures. I saw this bird eating a carcass in our neighborhood and then sitting on a roof. Looked ominous. Grabbed my phone and started recording.
First up is the first short – the one from the roof top.
Second one is from a driveway.
And feeling inspired I created this creepy haiku.
Do you enjoy vultures or do you find them creepy or ominous?

The Honeysuckle Poem
The Honeysuckle Poem
https://youtu.be/Jm_RUt7B2VYDigging back in the archives for this one.
The Honeysuckle Poem
When I walk,
I love to smell,
Honeysuckle.
I love to see,
it hanging,
from the vines.
I love to see,
it blooming white.
I love to taste,
its nectar,
growing wild.
Yes,
I love the Spring,
the warm weather,
and
Honeysuckle.
